The Wakefield Inn Bed and Breakfast is located in the quiet, historic village of Wakefield in central New Hampshire (lakes region). We are a family (kid) friendly Inn of central NH and close to many sites and activities in the area. Six well appointed guestrooms provide lodging for families or those wishing for a romantic getaway. The Inn is just minutes from destinations such as Wolfeboro, Sanbornville and Lake Winnipesaukee, NH. (The charming town of Wolfeboro is nestled on the lake and offers an abundance of shops and restaurants.) Enjoy the beautiful White Mountains and the Lakes Region. The immediate area offers many family activities such as boating, fishing, other outdoor activities, museums, shops and fabulous restaurants. A little further away visit Shaker Village in Canturbury, and Castle in the Clouds which is located Moultonborough, NH; less than a 40 minute drive.

Take a day trip to Portland, Maine (only 1 hour 20 minute drive) and explore the beautiful sea coast and village of Old Port. Tour one of the many lighthouses, shop eclectic merchandise, or relax at the beach. Top off the day with great dining with lots of fresh seafood. The Wakefield Inn can provide you with additional information about day trips to Portland and other areas.

Culinary Retreats

Have you ever wanted to cook like a Professional Chef? Create original dishes to impress your friends and family? Our Culinary Retreat is a getaway and cooking class in one great package. You will learn to cook a 5-course meal with Chef Janel Martin. She is a classically trained chef, and will teach you the basic skills needed to be able to recreate what you will learn, and create your own unique dishes on your own.

You will learn to make Composed Salads, Soups, Entrees, Bread, and the best part DESSERTS, our Chef's specialty.  Janel's desserts have even been reviewed by the food critic of the Washington Post. How does Chocolate Truffle Cake or Lavender Creme Brulee sound? mmmmm.

The Culinary Retreat is for 3 nights, Friday to Sunday and departs after a full breakfast on Monday. This package will include all meals, including the Grand 5-course meal featuring all the dishes we will make over the course, paired with some outstanding local wines.

Grab your unfinished projects, your knitting friends and let us do the rest. Spend the weekend sitting around the fire and doing what you love.

Package includes 2 nights lodging, all meals and a trip to a local yarn shop. A group class can be scheduled at the yarn shop with advanced notice.

The Wakefield Inn is the perfect setting for your next special event. We are able to tailor our menu to fit your special event. With special event seating inside for up to 40 guests and outside for up to 100, a classically trained chef and an impressive selection of international and regional wines, the Wakefield Inn can help you make your next special event extra special.

Your package will include appropriate linens, all dishes and flatware, catering and banquet personnel, champagne and chocolate dipped strawberries for bride and groom in room.
