Our inn's name, Mountain Song Inn, is simply an endearing term for the place we love, reflecting things of the heart. While you are here it is our sincerest desire that your heart is stirred in ways only the wonder of nature, peace, quiet and refined comfort can elicit. Of course, nature's wonders are manifested in many places, in many ways, not just in the Blue Ridge Mountains. But there is something almost melodious here about the woods, the hills, the sky, and their many moods that engenders a nearly inexplicable sense of belonging, of being surrounded by strength, of finding harmony with the soul; hence is evoked the lilting allusion to joyful "song". Romantic Retreats

In addition to our beautiful backdrop of mountain vistas, retreat to your private guest room where above your Serta Sleep Perfect bed hangs a dimmer-operated chandelier, providing the most romantic of settings. Luxurious bed linens and coverings round out your sleeping experience. You can awake in bed and gaze to the far mountains, right from your pillow! Large soaking tubs are available in the French Country and English Garden rooms, as well as glass doors to your own private, outdoor sitting patio.

Women's Retreats

Inn activities can keep you busy—if you want to be busy. We have three large decks, two of which are completely covered and, of course, face the mountains. There you can rock in lazy rockers, swing on the deck swing, lay or snooze in a great hammock. Several bistro tables and chair settings allow relaxed deck seating for viewing, snacking, or a cool drink. A large checker set, with 3” diameter native wood checker pieces and checkerboard atop an old whiskey barrel. The rear deck is heavily covered with matured wisteria vines—the glory of the spring, but nonetheless wonderfully verdant thereafter, flourishing ‘til late fall: a canopy of sheer green. This deck faces tiers of mature plantings that create a remembrance of Eden, as it were…

On the inn’s north side a large screened-in porch with wonderful mountain vistas offers you opportunity to snack, or just spend time.

The Great Room is the focal point of the inn, a wall of windows face the mountains and window seats flank either side of the huge stoned, wood burning fireplace. There is also a pool table for your entertainment.

A den/library/study is adjacent the Great Room and can be closed off for private TV, stereo CDs, or quiet reading. The ample and diverse library is available for your exploration.

Outdoor Adventure Retreats

Although Floyd is our "urban" center, time spent at Mountain Song Inn, a Virginia bed and breakfast high and secluded in the Blue Ridge Mountains, will transfer your thoughts from the harried and complex to the simple grandeur of the outdoors. Sights, smells, and sounds of the country soothe, relax, and make you glad you came apart for a season... Mountain trails, if you are a walker, will lead you to streams, deer haunts, beaver dams, pileated woodpeckers, even eagles from time to time. Outdoor photo-ops abound: You never know what Nature may present for the readied aperture.
